1. URL Change: Fetzilla Chats
Date: Wednesday, April 2, 2025
Expected Downtime: Minimal
Status: Scheduled
What’s Changing:
The URL for Fetzilla Chats will change from https://fetzilla.com/chatrooms to https://www.fetzilla.com/chats.
Impact:
- Password managers may not recognize the new URL
- Guest users will need to re-login
- Web app users may need to reconfigure their connection
2. Improved Registration Process

What’s Changing:
We’re streamlining the registration process for Fetzilla Chats to make it more user-friendly and secure.
Impact:
- New registration flow for new users
- No impact on existing accounts
- No service interruption expected
3. User-Created Chatrooms

Status: In Development
What’s Changing:
Users will be able to create and manage their own chatrooms with custom settings and moderation tools.
Impact:
- New feature addition – no disruption to existing services
- Enhanced user control and customization options
4. Audio and Video Streaming Chatrooms

Introducing audio and video streaming capabilities to chatrooms for enhanced real-time communication.

5. Community to “People” Transition

What’s Changing:
The Community section will be rebranded and restructured as “People” with URL change from https://www.fetzilla.com/community to https://www.fetzilla.com/people.

- Extended downtime of community features during transition
- Updated navigation and interface
- Users will need to update bookmarks
6. Chats and Community Integration

Integration of the Chats and People (formerly Community) platforms for a more cohesive user experience.

- Unified navigation between platforms
- Shared profile system
- Possible intermittent service disruptions during integration
7. Federated Login System

Status: In Early Planning

Implementation of a federated login and registration system across all Fetzilla services.

- Pre-update and post-update maintenance periods
- Single login for all Fetzilla services
- Temporary account access interruptions during transition
8. Migration to Canadian Servers
Date: Not yet scheduled
Expected Downtime: Extensive
Status: Long-term Planning
What’s Changing:
Migration of all Fetzilla services to new Canadian server infrastructure for improved performance and capacity.
Impact:
- Significant to severe downtime during migration
- Faster service and improved reliability after completion
- Increased capacity for future growth
